Marine VHF Radio (SRC)

The Short Range Certificate (SRC) is the radio operator qualification which authorises the holder to operate a VHF Radiotelephone fitted with Digital Selective Calling (DSC) on board any British vessel which is voluntarily fitted with radio equipment.

The Spanish Authorities recognize this qualification for British Nationals using VHF SRC If you own a marine radio handheld or fixed set, you are required by law to hold an operator’s licence. Learn the procedures for operation and gain the qualification on this one-day examined Course.

None

Course content:

Use of marine radio including GMDSS. Routine, distress, urgency and safety procedures.

Ability after course:

Can use a Marine VHF radio.

Minimum duration:

1 day including an exam
