RYA Powerboat Courses
Where Do I Start?
From either Puerto Colon Marina or our base at Los Gigantes Marina, we provide the complete range of RYA Powerboat Courses on our Alson 6.6m RIB. If you are not sure if Powerboating is for you, try the RYA Powerboat Level 1. This is a one day course designed to introduce you to powerboating. However, if you want to get into powerboating, need a qualification or just want to have fun with small boats up to 10m length overall, we suggest that your first course should be the two day RYA Powerboat Level 2. After this course you will have sufficient experence to safely drive a powerboat and the New RYA Level 2 Certificate with photo, unique number and hologram is accepted by the local authorities. You can also apply for the RYA ICC (Certificate of Competence for Operators of Pleasure Craft) which is recognised as a qalification throughout Europe and is the normal requirement for Chartering a powerboat such as our Alson 660 RB.
If you want to gain higher qualifications in powerboating, the next step is the RYA Intermediate Powerboat Course and then the RYA Advanced Powerboat Course, both of which are of two days duration. You will also need to complete a RYA Dayskipper navigation & theory course, a VHF SRC Radio Course and a First Aid Course.
