Club Sail Sea School - Established in 1987
First RYA Sailing School recognized abroad
All courses are run by experienced RYA Instructors.
We are located at Los Gigantes Marina in the South of Tenerife. The most picturesque setting for a Marina in Tenerife, perhaps the whole of Spain!
We provide transport to and from the Airport or your Hotel
We can also provide tranquil Holiday Accommodation
Club Sail is run by John Williams, an RYA Yachmaster Ocean Sail & Motor Cruising and Advanced Powerboat Instructor who 22 years ago opened the first Overseas RYA Training Centre in Tenerife. At that time John ran the School purely as a Sailing School and in due course opened as a Power Training Centre for Motor Yachts. Regular Ocean Passages were made with both Sailing and Motor Yachts. Apart from a wealth of experience in Sailing and Motor Cruising, John is also a VHF SRC Radio Assesor, First Aid Instructor and Sea Survival Instructor. We employ RYA Yachtmaster Instructors to teach Sailing and Motor Cruising Courses and can also provide training in all the complimentary courses such as VHF Radio, First Aid, Sea Survival and the Theory Courses: Basic Navigation, Day Skipper & Coastal Skipper / Yachtmaster.
John is assisted by his wife Barbara who deals with Bookings and Admin Matters. Barbara (A RYA Yachtmaster) has over 12 years experience of Importing and Registering Boats on both the Spanish 7a & 6a Lists. She is well versed in all aspects of Local Registration and conversion of Qualifications. Barbara is well up to-date with the new requirements for licences and changes to the Navigation Certificate brought in by the spanish authorities.
Our Brokerage offers New and Pre-Owned Boats for sale, so not only can we arrange the purchase of your boat, we can register it and train you to use it safely. If you wish, we can maintain your boat and look after it in your absence. We can evan manage the vessel under out Charter Yacht Management Program in order that you have an Income to offset the costs of owning the vessel.

The "WAZ"
In 1986, prior to setting up Club Sail Sea School, John & Barbara explored the Canary Islands on the Sailing Yacht "Pulse" and subsequently coined the phrase WAZ for the Wind Acceleration Zones of the Islands and produced the adjacent diagram. Subsequently, Imrie produced the "Atlantic Islands Pilot" and permission was given for this diagram to be used for the Canary Islands section.
